Fans of Charlotte 49ers basketball will get two chances to see the men’s and women’s teams prior to the 2009-10 regular season. The teams will host the annual 49ers Basketball Madness as well as the newly added 49ers Fan Day presented by Barnes and Noble at UNC Charlotte.
49ers Basketball Madness will begin at 9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22 with Fan Day at 11 a.m. on Saturday the 24th. Both events will be held at Halton Arena and are free and open to the public.
Seating for Basketball Madness will begin at 8:45 p.m. on Thursday night. The first 750 fans in attendance will receive a free t-shirt courtesy of Smoothie King. Madness will take on the theme “NormCenter” for the 2009-10 season and will feature a segment with ESPN Analyst Jay Bilas. Madness will also feature team skits, player introductions, the three-point contest, and the always-popular slam dunk contest.
49er Fan Day will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday and will feature a Fan Zone area that includes inflatable activities, season ticket pick-up, autographs and more. For entertainment purposes, the day will include team scrimmages and a free youth clinic with the 49ers men’s and women’s teams.
