This week’s player spotlight will look at freshman forward Jennifer Hailey for the women’s basketball team.
A native of Marshville, N.C., Hailey played in all 23 games this season and started five games.
Hailey isn’t the tallest player at six-foot-three but at times can dominate inside the paint and on the defensive boards. Hailey is shooting a team-high 55 percent from the floor this season and is averaging just 12 minutes per game.
Just a freshman, Hailey is the team’s fourth-leading rebounder with 106 rebounds on the season and is averaging 4.6 per game.
At Forest Hills High School, Hailey averaged a double-double in her sophomore, junior and senior years and hasn’t disappointed in her first year with the Niners. Hailey provides a sizeable presence in the paint, is a precise passer and is a quality rebounder.
Hailey has provided valuable minutes off the bench for the Niners and will play a crucial role down the stretch.
