The Charlotte 49ers men’s soccer team takes to the Transamerica Field pitch Saturday evening when they take on cross-state foe, Elon, in the home opener.

Lady 49ers face off against Arizona State this Friday with a 2-0 record.  

The Lady 49ers defeated NC State in overtime 2-1.

UNC Charlotte teamed up with Rocky River Golf Club in building a state-of-the-art golf practice facility in the city of Concord.

The Charlotte 49ers women’s volleyball team kicked off the 2010 season in dominating fashion, sweeping the East Carolina Pirates (25-17, 25-15, 25-22) in the opening match of the East Carolina Classic in Greenville, N.C. on Friday.

Trevor Williams, the UNC Charlotte Paintball club president, recently revived the team. He was inspired as he wandered through the Belk Gym and saw that the team had been inactive.

The Charlotte men’s soccer finished its last exhibition game with a 1-0 win against Winthrop last Thursday.

The Charlotte 49ers, who received the final aproval for a football program earlier this month, have scheduled their first football series, beginning in 2013.

Charlotte is primed to kickoff their regular season campaign against Davidson Friday night at 7 p.m.
